A huge warm and hearty THANK YOU to everyone who came out in a show of unity and support of our community this weekend.  This weekend was one of our biggest turnouts this summer.  We had juniors from 7 cities, the staff of Oceans Volleyball Club, southend employees who actually played and even some others who sat on the boardwalk and scouted the action.  On Saturday we had players from New York, Ohio, and Oklahoma all who came in and help support the volleyball community.  We can now mark Oklahoma off our list of states we have not had a team from.  Only few left.

  For those of us who have played on the Hotter Than Hell Tour that went through the great state of Texas during the months of July and August you will attest that this weekend was just as hot by comparison.  In fact what made it even hotter was the fact that more southend employees came out to play and even a board of director tried to get in on the action.  Luckily the well trained staff at Volleyball Virginia is on to all the old tricks and schemes of the southend and were able to preserve the integrity and honor of the game and the community. 

     With the heat came the perfect sponsor at the perfect time.  Sand Socks Inc.  Volleyball Virginia happily gave away over 35 pair of FREE sand socks this weekend.  It pays to play at Volleyball Virginia and if you are a southend supporter they will pay you not to play and Volleyball Virginia still has the largest turnouts on the beach!!!!!  Thank you everyone who came out and endured the heat and humidity for the sake of some great beach volleyball action. 

      Special shout out to all the women's teams from OHIO and the boys from IDAHO who came out to play.  Now we can cross Idaho off of our list as well.

What a great turnout for Neptune Festival especially considering the weather.  We had two of the best finals we had ever seen before in both the Men's A division and the Men's AA divisions.  The boardwalk and beach were both standing room only for both of these finals as large groups of fans from both Pebble Beach and 57th st came by to support their favorite players.  The 57th st group represented very well and proved that if you live in Va. Beach and are looking for the most talented players in the area then 57th st on the oceanfront is not only the place to play but the place to train as well.

 

We would also like to thank our fellow volleyball promoters from Texas and Rhode Island who came into town and joined us for the Neptune Festival.
